Peace of mind is what Eldercare
provides to those who wish to remain in their own homes and to the family members who worry about the safety and health needs of their loved ones. Providing only a few hours or up to 24-hour care, we offer personalized attention based on each client's needs
, ranging from companionship, those suffering from all forms of Dementia to those under hospice care. Who we are
We are a family-owned home care agency serving Southeast Michigan, since 1989
. Overall, our people have felt a calling to help the elderly and the disabled. As a whole, we strive to offer help and compassion to families that are dealing with the complexities of caring for needy loved ones. We bridge the gap between the care your own family provides and medical care offered by hospitals, doctors, and nursing care organizations. Why we do it Although, we are a for-profit organization, most of our people would be providing these services on a volunteer basis if we weren't paying them. We have seen the stress and pain caused to entire families while trying to coordinate care needed for loved ones, the nature of which is not covered by health insurance or Medicare.
Where we do it
We cover 7 counties in Southeast Michigan; Oakland, Wayne, St. Clair, Macomb, Monroe, Washtenaw, and Lenawee. Within that area, our care extends to many different settings including your home, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, rehab facilities, hospice settings, and anywhere else that a person in need may be residing temporarily or permanently. Eldercare Home Care Group was founded in 1989 by Julie & David Hooper as a volunteer service, born out of Mrs. Hooper's long-felt desire to help the elderly lead independent, comfortable lives. Mrs. Hooper clients began to spread the word about her brand of home care and soon numerous calls with requests for her help began to flood into the Hooper's home. In August of 1990, the Hoopers - along with their son David - hired additional aides with nursing care experience, expand their client base and Eldercare Home Care Group was born.
The next step was to provide employee training in the "human touch", the hallmark of Eldercare's personalized services. In addition to the staffs' caregiving skills, Hooper said employees need to know the importance of conversation and companionship for their clients' well-being. Eldercare is a "mom & pop" company.... personal but quite knowledgeable!
